I know it can be hard to read all of the lists and forms and instructions. If you're a visual person (as I am), you'll want to see what it should look like before you leave. Click on the links to the right (in ORANGE) to see what I expect.
Reminder: if you are staying for next semester, no you don't have to pack up your things (unless you're moving to another apartment. PLEASE refer to the back of your check out sheet for a COMPLETE checklist. These are not all inclusive.
PLEASE email me or come visit me if you have any questions.

Hey Ladies! These things are important to have done after you've cleaned. We know you've worked hard to get to this point...these are the finishing touches!
HOWEVER: These pictures depict how your apartment should look when you check out. Again, we need you to do these things before you step out the door and enjoy your break. Whoo hoo!
[Disclaimer: These things are a part of the whiteglove and check-out process. If they aren't done, your whiteglove will be incomplete. They only have to be this way when we come check, AND right BEFORE you leave for Christmas. See your checkout sheet for COMPLETE checklist...this is not a complete checklist]
It saves us SO much time, and it will ensure that you don't forget anything!
PLEASE let me know if you have questions about any of this BEFORE we come check! hagenj@byui.edu Happy cleaning!
Kitchen:
BLINDS: we need the blinds halfway up, and open, so we can see if there is dust/grime on them or not.
TABLE/CHAIRS/APPLIANCES: We need the chairs stacked on the table somehow (so we can see under the table and under the heaters really well/also to see if there are feet missing for the chairs, etc.)
We need the stove and refrigerator pulled out a foot so we can check the walls and floors. We'll put them back once we have checked them.

STOVE/OVEN: The foil you used to prevent big spills needs to be taken off, so we can check the drip pans, under the drip pans, and oven floor.
Notice that this oven floor is black? Wouldn't pass...ask me if you are having trouble getting the black stuff off.
Again...PLEASE let me know if you have questions about any of this BEFORE we come check! hagenj@byui.edu Happy cleaning!
Hey Ladies! These things are important to have done after you've cleaned. We know you've worked hard to get to this point...these are the finishing touches!
Note that all the cupboards and drawers, shelves, etc. DO NOT have to be empty for white glove, but they still need to be clean. If you start packing things up you don't use everyday, it will save you time!

Bedrooms:
CLOSET: Panels need to be open
DRAWERS/DESK CHAIRS:Dresser drawers OPEN, chairs on top of desk (seat faced away from wall so we can see both cushions. You will need to pull the dresser and desk out about 18" so you can do the next step.
BEDS/MATTRESS COVERS:Bed frames need to be pulled out 18" OR MORE away from the wall...you can move them back for the last week, but they'll need to be pulled out again before you check-out.
Also, the mattress covers need to be washed in the laundry room, hung dry (dryers will melt them...they're $20 to replace one). This should be done sometime whiteglove, but before check-outs. They need to be put back on the mattress before you check-out.
Bedframes take longer than you think to clean...don't leave behind any dust! :)

Living Room:
BLINDS: we need the blinds halfway up, and open, so we can see if there is dust/grime on them or not.
FURNITURE/CUSHIONS:
Furniture moved at least 18" or more away from all walls, so we can check behind. Cushions up so we can check for loose change. J/K...so we can check for cleanliness and tears/holes.{pic for furniture/walls behind}
BROOM CLOSET INVENTORY: We need all cleaning equipment in the cleaning bucket, in the broom closet. We'll need to have the following in the broom closet:
vacuum & attachments
broom
dustpan
cleaning bucket (clean & empty)
all in the broom closet so we can make a quick glance and know they are there.
Anything missing from the broom closet will be charged to the tenants for replacement (even if it is somewhere else in the apartment, we don't have time to look around for them).
For further instructions, refer to your complete checklist on the back of your checkout form.
MARKER/BULLETIN BOARD
This needs to be free of writing, memos, tacks (2 are okay) and anything else.
